Privacy Notice
This notice explains what PrintWhat collects, why we use it, who receives it and the choices available to you.
Effective September 8, 2026
Information we collect
When you submit a request, we collect your description, intended use, measurements, quantity, location, timeline, email address and any files you choose to upload. We also retain the PrintWhat page that led to the request, messages, solution decisions, quote scope and amount, quote and delivery status, security events and limited technical data such as IP-derived rate-limit counters.
If you allow Analytics, we collect first-party product events including page path, event type, model source, result count, external referrer hostname and explicit UTM campaign labels. We do not put raw model-search terms, full referrer URLs, email addresses or uploaded filenames in the analytics database.
How we use it
We use request data to search third-party model sources, assess possible modifications, obtain custom-design or manufacturing options, communicate with you, prevent abuse and improve search quality. We do not sell personal information or use request files for advertising.
Service providers and model sources
Email delivery, hosting, storage, security, monitoring and payment providers may process limited data on our behalf. A payment link opens the provider’s HTTPS checkout; PrintWhat does not collect or store full payment-card or bank-account details. Search terms may be sent to the model sources identified in the product, but we do not send them your email address or private uploaded files unless you approve a specific supplier handoff.
Retention and security
Private workspaces use expiring access links and essential security cookies. Files are stored outside the public web root and downloaded as attachments by authenticated operators. Closed requests and first-party analytics events are scheduled for deletion after the configured retention period, normally 180 days; encrypted or offline backups may persist for up to 30 additional days.
Cookies and similar technologies
PrintWhat uses essential cookies for security, access to private request workspaces and remembering your cookie choices. Optional analytics and marketing technologies are disabled until you actively allow the relevant category. You can withdraw that choice at any time through “Cookie settings” in the footer. Our Cookie Policy lists the technologies currently in use and their duration.
International processing
PrintWhat serves customers globally. Data may be processed in countries other than your own. Where required, we use contractual and technical safeguards appropriate to the provider and transfer.
Your choices
You can export or delete an active request from its private workspace. You may also request access, correction, export or deletion of your personal information by contacting privacy@printwhat.app. Some backup, security, dispute or legally required records may be retained for the periods described above.
Children
The service is not directed to children under 16. Do not submit a child’s personal information without legally valid authorization.
Changes
We may update this notice as the service and its providers change. Material changes will be identified by a new effective date.
